Executive Director

Heidi has an extensive background in finance and business operations. She came to DOVE in 2013 and has held several leadership seats on the board of directors during her time as a volunteer. Her focus is on making sustainable programs that work toward systemic change in our culture.


Lead Advocate

Nyn Grey has been working for DOVE since January 2015. She currently acts at Lead Advocate and Program Manager for the Community Access to Therapy, Holistic Health for Survivors and Bystander Intervention programs at the agency. In addition to her role at DOVE, Nyn is a mother to three sweet girls, a wife, a proud owner of a great dog who sometimes works at the office as well, and an island yoga instructor.


Youth Advocate & Prevention Specialist

Maya Battisti is the Youth Advocate for the Dove Project. She splits her time between direct service advocacy and early intervention program initiatives at both McMurray Middle school and Vashon High. She is a TeenCouncil co-Facilitator, and Athletes as Leaders Facilitator. She loves being a member of this incredible community and is grateful for the position she is in to positively affect its youth. Maya is the mother of two beautiful girls, enjoys walking the beach with her loyal mutt and can occasionally be seen performing in local benefits and fundraisers.


Community DV Advocate, LMFT


Community DV Advocate, & Legal advocacy

Community DV Advocate & Legal advocate able to accompany people through the legal process. Kyle has been with DOVE since 2014 as a prevention specialist supporting survivors and programs providing outreach for the community to increase safety, reduce harm, increase access to resources & as a Direct Service advocate. Previous TeenCouncil co-facilitator. His background in health-care, non-profits & social anthropology.


Prevention Program Supervisor

Tracy McLaren has been a DOVE advocate since 2015. Currently, Tracy is a Teen Council co-facilitator and leads the prevention program initiatives in both the Vashon HIgh School and McMurray middle school to reduce teen dating violence, build skills and promote healthy relationships.


Advocate, Prevention Specialist

Tim is a trained advocate and prevention specialist who has volunteered with DOVE since May 2015. He develops and implements the Lunchboxes program at McMurray Middle School, and is responsible for implementing the Coaching Boys Into Men program. Tim is a long-time hospice volunteer, and enjoys yoga, singing, and playing the harp.

Tami Brockway Joyce

Tami Brockway Joyce


Tami Brockway Joyce has worked in human resources, communications and marketing and most recently acted as CEO of a local craft distillery. She also performs as an actor, emcee and radio host. Tami enjoys volunteering in the community and has worked on a number of non-profit boards.

Kate Dowling

Kate Dowling


Kate is a mother of 2 wonderful teenagers, the best dog in the world and a very fat cat. She and her husband, Doug and their dog love walking to the Burton coffee stand for colourful chats with her neighbours. In her spare time, Kate is a marketing manager for the Asia Pacific region at Starbucks Coffee Company.

Grace McRae

Grace McRae


Grace is the polling and research director at the Sierra Club and oversees public opinion research for national and state campaigns. She is passionate about using data to help tackle important social problems. Grace recently moved to Vashon from Washington, DC.
