Who We Are

The DOVE’s Project provides compassionate advocacy to survivors of domestic violence living on Vashon Island, both through support and direct services.  Our goal is to build a community where abuse is eliminated and personal empowerment is promoted through prevention, education, and training.

Advocacy in action

What We Do

how we help

DOVE provides free, confidential, and trauma sensitive support services that promote the rights of survivors and prevent violence.

Legal Help

DOVE gives assistance and support to domestic violence and sexual assault survivors as they engage with the legal system.

DOVE is building programs to change our community's societal beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors that perpetuate domestic violence.

Domestic Violence prevention is a cornerstone of DOVE’s work, with innovative programming at the middle school and high school.

we work with

where victims become

Survivors of intimate partner violence are overwhelmingly female. Abuse can impact your job, housing, food security, and health. You are not alone. All cultural, religious, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds are affected by domestic violence.

If you are a man and are being abused, you are not alone. We know how difficult it can be to find support as a man experiencing violence and abuse in an intimate relationship as some people don’t understand how a man can be abused.

1 in 3 teens in a dating relationship have been verbally, emotionally, sexually, or physically abused. Everyone, regardless of age, deserves to be in a healthy relationship.

All too often LGBTQ folks are invisible victims and survivors of sexual and domestic violence. Support and advocacy is provided to LGBTQ folks of all genders who are surviving abuse.
